Appeal for West Memphis Three - Please Donate!
HelloHenry.com is taking time out from our usual wacky Henry Rollins blogs today to pass on an urgent appeal from the West Memphis Three for their defense campaign. The campaign has reached a very critical moment. On October 29 Damien’s defense attorney’s filed a Second Amended Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus, requesting a new trial for Damien, or to release him. The writ includes compelling new evidence about the case.
DNA testing has found no evidence to link Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley or Jason Baldwin to the crime scene. Further expert reports and analysis show the prosecution’s case against Damien in the 1993 trial to be seriously flawed. For example, the wounds on the boys claimed by the prosecution to be inflicted by a knife, are shown to be caused by animals post mortem. The information compiled by Damien’s defense team is so compelling that some parents of the victims (including Pam Hobbs) have now come forward to offer their support to Damien, Jessie and Jason.
