I need to go into hibernation for a few days to meet a deadline for a project I’m working on. Now I know some readers are prone to experiencing Hello Henry withdrawals when we hibernate. Unfortunately the Hello Henry Patch is still undergoing extensive research and development, but the good news is an alternative treatment is available.

We got this email and video from Hello Henry reader John during the week, check it out!

“I’m a native of New York city, but as of 2003 I’ve been living in the Republic of Panama. I’ve been a Henry Rollins fan since I was in high school (its a been a while since those days). Unfortunately I’ve never had the good fortune to coincide with one of Hank’s spoken word shows; something that brings me feelings of great sadness.

My brother Chris lives in the great state of Florida; he recently had the opportunity I’ve been never had… he went and saw good ol’ Henry do it LIVE!

After the show, Chris got to meet and hang out with Henry for a couple of minutes. My brother gave Henry the whole story: “… my brother is a huge fan… never got to see you… he’s probably hanging from a rope in his closet at this very moment, etc.”

After my brother was through with his tale of misfortune and sadness, Henry suggested that my brother take his digital camera and film him while he sent me a personalized Rollins message. What a fuckin’ champ! My brother jumped at the opportunity and got to filming, and here’s a video of the message:”

Team Rollins Is Go!

Team Rollins, our Henry Rollins fan community, is alive and dangerous! It has been set up on the social networking site Ning.com. Check it out and join up here: http://teamrollins.ning.com. The community has all sorts of wiz bang features. You can create your own profile page, post blogs, photos, videos, events, the works! We’re kinda new to Ning so we’re still getting familiar with all the goodies it provides. Please let me know if there’s something you’d like added.

I see this community as a place, not just to talk Rollins, but somewhere to meet fellow fanatics and talk about all kinds of cool stuff. So don’t feel the need to restrict the chatter to things Rollins related.

The community will be what YOU make it! In order for any community to thrive, it requires participation. So get postin’, get friendly with fellow fanatics, and have fun!

Hello Henry Turns One Today!

Yes it’s one year to the day since Hello Henry launched onto the internets. Who could forget our first post, this cheeky video, this curious photo, and getting things the fuck done with Henry Rollins?… ahhh so many great memories.

I was going to mark today with the launch of the community forum I mentioned a few posts back.. but it’s not quite ready. So in the absence of being able to create a forum frenzy right now, I thought we’d round off the first twelve months in the place where we started, the photo archives of Rollins Band guitarist Chris Haskett.
