Blog Action Day – H for Hunger
Today is Blog Action Day, an annual nonprofit event where the world’s bloggers post about the same issue on the same day to raise awareness and trigger a global discussion. The issue for discussion this year, is poverty.
For those of you who’ve been keeping tabs on what Henry Rollins has been doing this year, you’ll know that in July, he spent a month in Thailand filming for an upcoming documentary H for Hunger. The film is an English remake of F Comme Faim. The director, Neil Hollander, says of the film:
“H for Hunger will, I hope, be a radical departure from the normal film fare. It is an ambitious attempt to use the medium to address one of the world’s most pressing problems, how to feed the growing number of people that populate the underdeveloped regions.
Drama is carried to an extreme. Taboos are ignored. The viewer is addressed directly. The naked face of Hunger is revealed for what it is, a horrific, sickening scourge of mankind that could be and should be eliminated.”

Well it looks like our fake Twitter twerp has been found out and ordered by Twitter to make his fraudulent status known (notice I’m presuming it’s a he!). He can now be found here: http://twitter.com/NotHenryRollins. It is against Twitter policy to impersonate anyone. So it’s likely that a fan or someone from the Rollins camp complained and Twitter had to take action (I guess there’s only so many times you’re prepared to answer the question “Dude, is that really you on twitter?”). Thanks to Joy for alerting us to the Twitter twerp’s new home.
Henry Rollins is a Bastard, but at least he can spell
Some tool has been spamming the Henry Rollins Press Photo Archive on Flickr with a link to a dumb article he wrote on how Henry Rollins is a “bastard” and “oppresses people”. Apparently this guy wants his 15 minutes of fame (and spotlight on his poor spelling)… well, he can have it: http://www.anticharisma.com/articles.html.
Fake Rollins On Twitter No More?
Many months ago we called bullshit on the fake Henry Rollins on Twitter. Today when I logged in to check the stats for Hello Henry, I noticed a higher than usual number of people finding us via the search words ‘henry rollins twitter’. My curiosity sparked, I visited the fake HR Twitter page and found this:
What does this mean? Has Twitter finally realized that the fake Henry Rollins twitterer is actually just a twit? Or is the twit in question hiding his posts from all but his followers in attempt to avoid scrutiny from more astute fans?
Hello Henry Flickr Group T-Shirt Bingo
If you haven’t checked out the Hello Henry Flickr Group for a while, go take a squiz, there’s almost 50 photos in the group now… and in almost every one Henry is sporting a gray t-shirt. He must buy ‘em by the box. I have a theory, the shade of t-shirt gets lighter as his hair does. Prediction: He’ll be wearing white t-shirts in his 60s (that’s possibly too generous, more like his mid 50s). $50* to anyone who gets a photo with Henry wearing a color other than gray, black, army green or that USO top!

Heads up fanatics, Hello Henry is presently working on a Henry Rollins community board for all you wonderful “legal stalkers” (nice one Sonya!) to hang out and shoot the shit in. We’d been pondering the idea for a little while until Hello Henry reader, Raequel, gave us a lil’ nudge to get things moving. So stay tuned for that in the next week. It’s gonna be fun!
