Into the Night with Henry Rollins & Shirin Neshat

Here’s a clip from the TV series Into The Night featuring Henry Rollins and Iranian photographer and exile Shirin Neshat. For each episode in the series two people from different walks of life were paired together and filmed for one night.

After filming Rollins turned into somewhat of a Neshat fanboy mentioning her at every opportunity in interviews (like this one – and how could you not, she’s pretty awesome. Check out her work here). This was about 2006. In the following year Henry visited Iran as a tourist (here’s just one interview in which it’s discussed) and now watches Iran with great interest. His latest blog post ..er.. I mean “dispatch” to Vanity Fair muses on the wisdom of the US administration’s response to the recent election.

Oh, and if you’re in need of a chuckle, check out the comments in response to his previous post on the Palin / Letterman affair.

Not sure. It’s a sad story though. Dear Henry’s life seems chock full of sad stories.

This ended up looking like a very strange but cute blind date. I noticed how when Henry walks into meet Shirin for the first time, the camera TOTALLY catches him looking her up and down. *snerk*

Did the sound and video go out of synch about halfway through for anyone other than me?

Hi Indi, it was out of sync for me too.

The second half is off by 4500ms, on most players you can fix it by adding 4.5 seconds from the players playback/audio sync options

I really liked the part with the cake shop people. The only ones there that were not being stupid was the owner. Those women/girls seem to think they have a better clue about things than the rest of the world and want to mock and stir up shit. I did like the way you let them know they really do not know anything at all.
