New Rollins Film: H for Hunger

If you’ve been subscribed to Hello Henry for a while you might remember that on Blog Action Day in October of 2008 we posted about Henry Rollins’ involvement in a documentary called ‘H for Hunger’. The english version of the film, which features Henry (and his financial backing) is now doing the film festival circuit. It appeared at the Santa Cruz Film Festival this past weekend and will appear at others shortly.  So please keep an eye out for it. Normally at this point I’d direct you to the website, but it seems that someone did not renew the domain name for the official site which is http://anewdawnoffilm.com. So I don’t know anything about screening dates etc. If someone out there does, please send them on in and I’ll post them.

Here’s the trailer:

Update on A Preferred Blur

Henry Rollins Signs Books from Musictoday on Vimeo.

Sleep is for the weak!

Just a quickie. I did promise to post a tutorial on creating your own Rollins tee on Monday, but I’m completely wrecked from a serious stint of sleep deprivation and don’t have that open eyelids thing happening long enough to format the post. So that will be posted tomorrow instead.

If you missed out on a limited edition copy of A Preferred Blur, follow the comments on the previous post. Apparently Amazon is taking pre-orders. If your subscribed to Henry’s dispatches you will have heard that they are bringing forward the release of the regular edition so you can get your hands on a copy sooner rather than later.

A Preferred Blur Sold Out

Signed copies of ‘A Preferred Blur’ on pre-order are now sold out. Man, that was quick! For those of you hoping the economic crisis would slow sales and keep you in with a chance… you were wrong. OK hands up, who’s going without food this week so they could get the book?

If you missed out, don’t worry. Hello Henry will have a treat for you on Monday. You might remember the “In Henry We Trust” Henry Rollins stencil we posted a little while ago. Well Hello Henry reader, Kat, has been kind enough to write a tutorial, complete with photos, on how to make your own t-shirt using the stencil and some freezer paper. So look out for that on Monday and have a great weekend!

A Preferred Blur Available for Pre-Order

1ham25Henry Rollins latest book “A Preferred Blur’ is now available for pre-order at the official store. The first 1000 copies will be personally signed by Henry.

I’m curious to know whether the person who receives the 1000th copy will open the book to find an indecipherable scrawl. Signing your name 1000 times must surely be a test of hand muscle endurance. But you know Henry. He’s probably been on some intense diet and hand exercise regime for the past three weeks in preparation for this mammoth signing session. Even so, I’m tipping he starts cramping like a MF at #365.

So when you receive your signed copy of ‘A Preferred Blur’ next month,  spare a thought for Henry’s poor Abductor Pollicis Brevis.

Henry Rollins 2008 Recountdown Tour

Rollins is hitting the road again! If you’re subscribed to his mailing list you’ve probably already read about his upcoming tour. Presales tickets are available here. If you purchase presale tickets you’ll go into the running to win an autographed copy of “Provoked”.
From the press release:

“Hoping that the bad times are almost over, I am taking advantage of the current situation to spend the last few nights of the catastrophic Bush administration onstage,” HENRY says of the RECOUNTDOWN tour. “Things will be so different after he’s gone. For me, the new century will have finally arrived. Since I was last in the cities that I will be visiting on this tour, I have been fairly far and wide and have a lot of new stories to tell. I look forward to spending autumn in my favorite country.”

We’re very much looking forward to this tour, because Henry on tour means more photos for the flickr group! Full tour and ticket info is available here.
