Although Henry Rollins does not tweet, some of his fans sure do. I don’t quite understand the appeal of twitter myself, but I must admit it can be interesting to see what people are saying about ole HR, particularly while he is on tour. Heaps of people are tweeting about his shows the past few nights. “Inspiring” seems to be the most commonly used word to describe them. Pretty cool. Here are a few tweets about last night’s show:
AllieRaymond: Henry Rollins. Dude talked for three and a half hours without a break and without a drink of water. I was exhausted. He is not human!
rndmidnightbar: owners went to see Henry Rollins last night. The man should be on compulsory prescription for anyone disaffected with the world.
crikeyabi: Does Henry Rollins have ADD? 3 hours talking without even a drink of water. What a legend.
ADD? If the dude had Attention Deficit Disorder he could hardly concentrate for three hours! It’s more like ADHD, without the AD! Anyways, the purpose of this post is to tell you that Hello Henry has a new page that displays a live feed of the latest tweets about Henry Rollins. You can check it out here: http://hellohenry.com/twitter. It’s updated in real time. You can access it anytime by clicking the blue bird at the top of this page. Will it be an interesting read or a load of boring bollocks? Let’s find out…

Well it looks like our fake Twitter twerp has been found out and ordered by Twitter to make his fraudulent status known (notice I’m presuming it’s a he!). He can now be found here: http://twitter.com/NotHenryRollins. It is against Twitter policy to impersonate anyone. So it’s likely that a fan or someone from the Rollins camp complained and Twitter had to take action (I guess there’s only so many times you’re prepared to answer the question “Dude, is that really you on twitter?”). Thanks to Joy for alerting us to the Twitter twerp’s new home.
Many months ago we called bullshit on the fake Henry Rollins on Twitter. Today when I logged in to check the stats for Hello Henry, I noticed a higher than usual number of people finding us via the search words ‘henry rollins twitter’. My curiosity sparked, I visited the fake HR Twitter page and found this:

What does this mean? Has Twitter finally realized that the fake Henry Rollins twitterer is actually just a twit? Or is the twit in question hiding his posts from all but his followers in attempt to avoid scrutiny from more astute fans?
Our good friend Yorick at Rollins Causes has alerted us to the fact that the fake “Henry Rollins” on Twitter has reached almost 10,000 followers. That means another 4000 people have been sucked in since we first announced it was fake.
In our site stats we can see that a few curious souls are finding our posts on this subject from the Googles, but not many. Which is puzzling, because when you type “henry rollins and twitter” or “is henry rollins on twitter?” into the googles, Hello Henry is in the top three results.
So I can only assume this means that few people question the authenticity of the Henry Rollins on Twitter or simply aren’t curious enough to google it.
Come on guys, we need to spread the word. Sounds like a job for TEAM ROLLINS! Digg this post, or any of our other posts on the subject to Digg, Delicious, Stumble Upon, or any of those social media sites. Click the Share This button below to submit!
PS. If you’re new to this subject, before you email Henry asking for his official word on the subject, he’s already clarified that he is not on Twitter to one of our readers and several other sources.

We’ve posted about this a couple of times before, but it seems the word is yet to reach the 8000 or so folk who are still following the Henry Rollins impostor on Twitter. 8000! Wow, that’s a lot of bullshit detectors in serious need of repair. No wonder Bush got elected.
Today Hello Henry received yet another email about the subject so lets re-cap shall we? A couple of months ago we wrote this post in which we outlined the reasons why “Henry Rollins” on Twitter is a fake. Shortly after one of our readers, Marco, contacted the real Henry Rollins for the official word, which is “I have never been on Twitter ever”.
It seems silly to have to clarify something which seems so obviously fake, I guess my bullshit detector is just a well tuned machine. In the early days of the internet there were celebrity impostors popping up all over the place, one learnt to be skeptical.
So there you have it. If you have a Twitter account, do your civic duty and “twitter” about the Rollins impostor on Twitter, link to Hello Henry and let it be known – Henry Rollins dispatches, he does not twitter!
Like there was any doubt.
Hello Henry reader Marco contacted Henry Rollins for the final official word on the subject:
“I have never been on twitter ever.”
Click here to read Marco’s comment. Thanks to Marco for seeking an official clarification.
Is Henry Rollins on the twitters? This person seems to think so, so does this one, and this one. The list goes on. Is this guy the only one to ask – is it true? This gal seems to think Hank is twittering as well, but at least she is appropriately bewildered by it:
..I am dying to know what on Earth Henry Rollins would twitter about. Holy shit. I just used the words “Henry Rollins” and “twitter” in the same sentence. I can honestly say I never thought that would happen.
I can honestly say I never thought people would be so gullible as to fall for this. “Henry Rollins” on twitter has 6663 followers and counting. Does anyone seriously think that macho bullshit mentality man would “twitter”? He’d be lucky to even say the word let alone do it. Why twitter when you can dispatch and have your goons update for you!
Anyone who can read Henry’s tour schedule, get the latest Rollins news from Rollins-News.com and type out quotes from his books could be Henry Rollins on twitter.
Has everyone’s bullshit detector has gone awry? At least this person still has one in working order.
Me thinks Henry Rollins is on Twitter no more than Ian MacKaye is dead.
